Next week is not a week to fuck around on Live Arcade. Street Fighter II and Banjo Kazooie. I wonder how much interest on this board there is for SSFII though, who's buying?
I'm definitely buying the game, I'll be getting the 360 version.
I'll be getting it on PSN since I refuse to use the 360 controller for fighters.
I'll be getting it on 360 since I refuse to use the Dual Suck for fighters.
I honestly don't know how you use that D-pad, I can't even navigate menus accurately with it.
I'd buy it for PSN as well but all my friends have the 360 so that's the only way I could play against them. I guess I'll just have to invest in a fighting control pad if there is a decent one for the 360.

My question for you is have you even tried playing SF on it? It works just fine, I actually prefer it to the other pads by far. For fighting games like SF it works great. For a game like Mortal Kombat it's ass. Anything really that requires taps of the dpad (playing tetris, navigating menus) is almost unplayable on the 360 pad. For SF it's just fine. I used my 360 to play Megaman 9 and I have no complaints.

The reason why I'm campaigning for the 360 version is because that's the one I'm getting. And, this is a game I'll be playing everyday until SFIV and then some. All the extra peeps playing are welcome. I'll always be up to accept any challenge or just teach you the basics or whatever.

I hope there is a quarter mode. That would make my day.

Dell, it's been quite some time since we battled in Street Fighter. I'll definitely be getting this one. 360 of course.
And that was on keyboards through some ghetto ass snes emulator. Look how far we've come.
PSN SFIIHD here. Every multiplatform release is going to be purchased for my PS3 because its drive doesn't sound like a weed whacker off and on. While I prefer the Dualshock to the 360's d-pad I need to go about buying an arcade stick. If there's some sort of uber edition of SFIV with a stick I'm buying it.
Dell, I played SFII on the 360, and could not even pull off a fireball without considerable effort.

SFII HD on the PSN for me. I apologize, but you are the first person I have ever heard that actually believes the 360 dpad is the superior choice for 2D fighters. You must be some kind of savant.

There are still a lot of players playing SF2 Turbo right now on XBLA, and the majority of them use standard d pads. It's not hard to adapt to a controller. Stella played 3rd Strike for some time with an analog stick. Don't know how he got so good with one, but he did.

Just out of interest, have you played SF2HF or STHD beta with the standard 360 controller? It's fine (as far as those kinds of controllers go). QCF and DP type of moves aren't what people struggle with on the 360 controller. I'd actually prefer using it to a + dpad because it's far easier to do QCF type moves.

Yes and it sucked, end of discussion. Sorry to come across as rude but I refuse to believe there is anything good about the Xbox 360 D-Pad.

I played the Beta of SSF2THDR, and pulled every move I wanted with the 360 d-pad, without bigger problems, while the d-pad still sucks, it's not impossible to play with it.

UC1 Wrote:
Yeah same. I can't play Lumines or Puzzle Fighter with it, but for SF it's fine (tho I prefer an arcade stick).

And for someone who thinks like me

D-pad on the 360? Horribly broken. But the DS3 d-pad is just as good as the Classic Controller's d-pad.

no just no. Matter of fact the classic controller is a shitty d-pad also. But the Dual Shock controllers have the worst d-pad ever conceived.

Believe me, in the old days - when I didn't have to pay my own rent - I wouldn't have to go through a week of intense decision-making concerning which console to get. But I just can't buy 'em all anymore. I'm involved in this title, so it's almost my duty to head back into regular gaming, even if only for this title... this game will be my memento.

Besides, Jimenez said he'd hook us up with a download code. Big Grin

Bad news, by the way: my final revision of Vega's stage (has a better guitar sound) was too late to be included, so don't be too harsh on the version you'll hear. Also, Larry said he'd would've liked for the music to fade at the end of a match. We're not holding our breath for a patch, but here's hoping.
I find it just quite hard to accept that the Dual Shock is the worst dpad, when in fact out of all games I have ever played across all systems, it has been the most responsive and comfortable for me for over 3 generations. Gotta say I think you might be in the minority dell.
