I know a lot of those here don't watch much tv (some do), but I'm really quite a fan of watching some random crap while I'm on here, or having those few shows I make a point of watching every week during their seasons (basically, just The OC, South Park, and Sunday Stew- and only during new seasons). But really, I don't even watch these shows when they're on. I simply have the VCR set to record them when. I don't like to have to work my schedule around a TV show, I like just having it so I can watch it when I feel like it (hence the recording). I like being able to both watch it when is most convenient, watch again if I wish (within one week before it gets copied over), and being able to skip commercials.

I'm just recently starting to actually buy TV show DVD's. So far my collection only concists of Friends Season 1, Invader Zim Vol. 1, Family Guy Vol. 1 (Seasons 1-2), Punk'd Season 1, and TMNT: The Original Series. That's like 35+ HOURS of TV shows and I still don't want to stop buying them. Why in the hell is this so addictive? Half of those they STILL play re-runs of on tv, yet I'm getting to the point where I feel I need a new one weekly after I've finished the previous one (which usually takes a week).

For the OC fans, in case you didn't know, the first season is due out on DVD this October (starting at $60, I think). I personally can't wait since I missed the entire first half of that season. That's the only unrealeased, but announced I'm stoked on.

Then there are some I can't believe aren't out yet. I don't know what's wrong with VH1 that they don't see how much money they could make if they released I Love the 80's, Strikes Back, and I Love the 70's on DVD. To my knowledge NOTHING has been announced. I also haven't heard anything about the first season of Viva la Bam or Wildboys, and I don't know what's taking MTV so long to release Punk'd Season 2.

For upcoming shows ON tv, The OC and I Love the 90's are the only ones I'm looking forward to.

Also I'd have to say I dispise the news never ever watch it... ever. Anything that's amazingly important is usually posted here, and after seeing Bowling For Columbine I really don't want to watch the news AT ALL.

Basically, I watch a lot of "tv" I suppose, but it's more often a tape of recorded tv or tv DVD's.

So that was my pointless rant about television, what I like and whatnot. What are your tv watching habits?
Well I basically watch no tv shows right now. I do occasionally buy seasons of shows on dvd and I'll watch that. Oh, and I have a healthy collection now of anime and other shows on my computer. As for actually turning on the tv to watch something from ye olde cable, well I only do that for the Daily Show and I often miss that.
I religously watch HBO original series. They are all top-notch shows that no other network can come close to. The Sopranos(though this season was mostly meh), Six Feet Under, Sex and the City(though its over now), Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bob Costas, Bill Maher, Deadwood(awesome new show), Canivalé(awesome show as well), and the Wire. I just can't get enough of them. Oh, and their specials like Autopsy, , American Undercover or their movies like Something the Lord Made starring Alan Rickman and Mos Def(who gave an unbelievable performance). So yeah, I am a fan of HBO series mostly because of HBO on Demand which allows me to watch them when I am not busy.

Other than that I watch South Park every week, Reno 911!, Chapelle Show, Insomniac and the Daily Show on a ragular basis. I stopped watching Tough Crowd because most of those guys are morons and their schtick got old fast.

That is the end of my essay on TV shows. I hope you found it entertaining and stimulating.
Survivor
Star Trek: Enterprise
The Simpsons

Those are the shows i go out of my way to watch during their seasons. There are others i might watch, but i don't care if i see them or not.

Shows i own on DVD:
Simpsons Season 2
Survivor: Borneo
Futurama Vol. 1
Futurama Vol. 2
Futurama Vol. 3
Family Guy Vol. 2
Star Trek: Voyager Season 1
Reno 911 and South Park are my only TV addictions. I intend to buy all the seasons on dvd of both shows. In fact, I fell asleep watching the Chicken Lover episode from SP season 2 last night. Smile
Tv is dead to me. If I wasn't living with my parents I wouldn't bother with cable. It's much easier to stream shows I want to watch off my computer, that way I'm not a slave to the networks scheduling. Oh, and it's free.

Shows I own on dvd:

Futuram: vol 1, 2 and 3
Dead Zone: Season 1 and 2
Stargate: Season 6
I only make habit of watching a few shows. I grew up watching The Simpsons, it's an easy favorite, but recently, I've grown to watch Alias. Great show, you could probably rent the DVD's out of Blockbuster, but I think it'd take a lot of convincing on my part to get anyone to do that. So, here are some shows I make habit of tuning in to.

Arrested Development (funniest show on TV, no doubt)
Alias
The Simpsons
Chappelle's Show

And...I suppose that's about it. I watch many a music video, too.
I try to catch South Park and Reno 911 and Chappelle's Show. I usualy can't stand most TV and aren't usualy at home or too busy to watch the shows when they come on. If I wasn't so poor, I'd so buy a Tivo. I stopped trying to catch Arrested Development. I knew it was going to come out on DVD, and with such a great and intricate storyline, I needed to watch it in order. So I'll be buying that. I have all of the current Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy DVDs. Along with season one of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Sienfeld on DVD later this year? Ohhh, baby. I'll be all over that. I always watch Adult Swim and most of the MTV lineup on sunday nights. Viva La Bam and Wildboyz are pretty awesome. For some reason I've always watched Case Closed before I go to bed. I've only missed about two episodes. Too bad I'm not a Nielson rater, because I smell an unhappy end for this show.
The only TV shows I miss are 'The Daily Show,' 'Chappele,' and assorted stuff on Cartoon Network.

TV is outright stupid nowadays.
The only thing I'm watching on tv is the Band of Brothers, it's on every monday till the end, and I'm really getting into it, I love this movie.
I watch Best Week Ever, Chapelle's Show, South Park, The Daily Show, Conan, The Simpsons, Arrested Development, Family Guy, 24 (the only one I make sure I watch every week... or else!), and Hey, Arnold! Generally lighthearted fare, but that how I roll I guess.

What I own on DVD:
Simpsons Season 1
The Critic: The Complete Series

What I plan on Owning:
All Family Guys
All Simpsons
All 24 Seasons
Arrested Development, if it comes out.
Chapelle's Show
Oh! Best Week Ever! I forgot about that one. That show is great. I never make a point of watching it, but whenever I notice it's on I'll watch the whole thing very happily. It's very funny. The people are there are so much better than Tough Crowd with Colin Quin which I find incredibly NOT funny. I hate that show.
My favorite shows are -

Sportscenter - I have to watch this everyday or else I die
Family Guy - I try to catch that every night now that it's summer
Chappelle's Show - The new season is over, so reruns are on
Reno 911 - Great show I try to catch every Wednesday
Viva La Bam - I try to catch this every Sunday night but i'm always ending up watching the Sopranos
Sopranos - See above ^

Shows I own on DVD -

Family Guy Season 3 DVD
Chappelle's show Season 1 DVD

And i'm currently waiting for Chappelle's show season 2 DVD to come out soon.
Is Chappelle season 2 really due out that soon? It just ended fairly recently. If CC is that fast about releasing dvd's I want a Shorties Watching Shorties DVD PRONTO. Smile
Oh god I forgot ESPN. I watch Baseball Tonight, Around the Horn(though Reali isn't as good as Kellerman) and my personal favorite Pardon the Interruption.
