Since I know many people here are into puzzle games (especially Tetris Attack/PPL), I decided to make a thread for Pokemon Puzzle League. Also, certain modes of the game aren't scored yet, so listing personal best times in 1-player mode will suffice.

Okay, I'm updating with some preliminary scores and adding Very Hard Mode, which I'm in the later stages of.

I wish I had PPL. This would be one that I would actually try to get high scores on.

When I make it up to Seattle, I want to get a few games of PPL in with you.

I can't believe no one here has the game, or is willing to even play a little to beat my scores.

I am also updating right now with a few better scores and including that I cleared the final level (6-5) of Spa Service, which was pretty difficult.

Elizabeth, I have the game, remind me every week or so and I'll eventually load it up and start playing. Back when I rented the game I whipped absolute ass at the game, though I liked to play the Puzzle section more than anything else.

I have the GBC version. I could post scores for that if you wish...

Ummm...where do you find the records for those times? Everytime I go into 1P Stadium...and select one of the difficulties, they say that it will erase all previous records in that mode. WTF?

Soch - I'm not certain if you can view them through checking your stats in the Options Menu. I just recorded my times every time I played, and when I play through again, I record any better scores I get and post them here.

1-player mode is sort of a crapshoot until you get to hard. See, you can chain and combo like crazy, drop a huge block on your opponent, and it still takes forever for them to lose because the speed settings in Easy and Medium modes are so slow. So I think my Hard and Very Hard times are based far more on my skill than my Easy and Medium times.

Brandon - Is Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for the GBC exactly the same game? If it is, feel free to post your scores. If it's slightly different, just note that, post your scores, and I will put them up, too.

Nick - So you liked to play the Puzzle section (where you have a limited number of moves to make to clear it) best? Funny, that's probably what I'm worst at, even though I can sort of visualize it. I think PPL is a game for people with fairly quick fingers and extremely quick peripheral vision and processing.

It seems like many people I know who play games like PPL and Tetris don't even look at the next block until it actually falls, or look at the next chain (in PPL) they're going to make until they've finished the one they're working on. I think the reason I'm good at puzzle games like this, and also good at Jeopardy, is because I'm able to look at something in a block, like a full Jeopardy question or a PPL screen and immediately process what's going on. Then I'm able to answer more quickly or make a move more quickly than others, because I've already got the answer or solution in my head, while the other person is still working on it. Kind of like you with Amplitude - you have foresight and quick fingers.

Geez...I suck compared to you Ebo. I forgot to record times for the first two matches on Hard...but I did get the rest.

Hahaha...not quite. I still don't have a copy of the game. Plus, you could get lucky like a certain someone did on Super Hard Erika. :wink:

Oh you suck, Sean. In any event, I made it to super hard legitimately, but I haven't been able to update scores or play any more because of the hellish insurance classes that are ruining my life.

I got a copy of PPL yesterday, but I didn't play it until today. I finished Spa Service and got some new records on Easy.
