"That's right, Mad Catz are making the Street Fighter IV fighting sticks. I hope that makes you as nervous as that makes me. I've never been a big fan of Street Fighter on a console. Why? Because frankly it's not a game meant for console gaming. Sure you can play around with it at home, but SF is a arcade cabinet game and it always will be. Don't bother arguing with me, I will stubbornly refuse to listen and may even start making blah, blah, blah noises.

So when I started talking to the Capcom folks about Street Fighter IV (Ok, gushing), I told them how I fully expect the console version to suck. Really suck. No Brian, they told me, that's not true. Wait until you see the controllers. They're really going to be something special. Then comes the news today, Mad Catz is making them. Lies, LIES, I tell you. But after a bit of hyperventilating I touched base with some friends in the know and have been reassured (at least they tried to) that the controllers are still going to be filled with delicious awesome. "

So yeh, there goes any hope of me getting this on 360. I was going to buy a stick just for this game. Looks like I will be using the PS3 dpad instead. Or hopefully Hori will make an unofficial one.

Glad to see they're following the compilation with a whole new game. Never heard good things about HotD4, so I'd rather they take another jab anyhow. But based on the trailer it seems like they're using machine guns again....

The trailer maybe tries a little too hard, but I get the feeling these guys understand the (unintentional?) humor that made House of the Dead 2 so great. I especially like the quote in the bottom-left of the box art.

I met a few cool Seattleites and we've talked about the few arcades that exist around here, etc. It's nice to have people from my area to talk to because we can both laud and bitch about the same things.

I was approached on Friday by one of the Senior Referees asking if he could profile me since TG has, well, basically no girls. So now I'm on a page alongside Billy Mitchell and Steve Wiebe, among others (if you've seen "The King of Kong," you'll know both of these guys. If you haven't seen it, put your game down and go freaking get it.). Here's the direct hyperlink or you can find my profile by going to "Player Profiles" on the main page. So recently I started taking up the hobby again and while I do enjoy it I have to admit it's costing me a fortune. The other day I spent over $50 on a single card, granted it's a patch card numbered out of 50, but as I sit here and look at it I can't help but feel stupid for spending that much on a hockey card.

Thoughts on ppl with spina bifida

Does anyone here know someone that has spina bifida? It's a congenital birth defect which affects the spine and prevents some people from walking (depending on the case). Some people don't even realize they have it, others, in the most severe cases, are unable to walk or make use of any body part below the waist.

A few weeks ago, I met this amazing girl who has spina bifida (her case leans towards the severe end) and I couldn't help but admire her resolve to function normally in society. I say normal loosely, as I don't really know very many people that are normal per se, but yeah. Anyway, despite everything she does, drives to and from work, works out at the local gym and does her own grocery shopping (among other things), I can't help but notice a certain level of pain in her eyes. Pain that mirrors my own in a way...

My thoughts and emotions have been somewhat random of late, especially after meeting Sarah. She's a shy and somewhat introverted person who doesn't really say much ... at least not with her mouth, because her eyes speak volumes. Those eyes. Those magnificent pools of light and color, are full of pain — the sort of pain that often goes unnoticed by many. And it troubles me to no end. I wish there was something I could do for her, words I could give her, (and for others like her), but I've got nothing.

Make no mistake though, I do not pity her, for she is strong and gives me strength in ways I've never known. I meet people everyday who don't have her 'handicap' and are less independent than she is, and I admire her for it. For some reason, me saying or feeling that way makes me feel awkward ... Like I'm treating her with 'kid gloves' or something. I hope I haven't given her that impression. The best way I can describe it is like the whole "Some of my best friends are black" bit. Yeah, that's what it feels like. In trying to convey or achieve something the exact opposite occurs or is understood.

I'm just making an assumption with this, but if I were in a wheelchair I'd want my friends and others around me, to look past my handicap and just treat me like any other person (no special treatments , comments, etc.) And so that's how I've been handling the situation. Problem is, how do I offer her words of comfort without them making her feel singled out?

Thoughts anyone?

A small sprite image has been exploded into voxels and by rotating them around using your mouse position you reform the image, which gives you points and more time to do the next image.
On my first attempt I got 32 images completed and 195,500 points.
And it's called Coign of Vantage. Give it a shot. If nothing else you just wasted a few minutes.

Wow, now I didn't expect this. Tentatively titled DJ Max Fever it'll apparently be a mix of the first two Korean games.

http://au.psp.ign.com/articles/898/898179p1.html

US, August 12, 2008 - A few years ago, aspiring Korean DJs started tapping beats in time with PSP music and racking up high scores. The game was called DJ Max, and Americans would never know the game's glory unless they were ready to call their favorite import shops.

That's about to change.

PM Studios announced this morning that it will be publishing Pentavision's DJ Max Fever in the United States. The basic gist of the game is that players pick songs and then need to tap corresponding buttons as icons cross a line above said button indicators. It's kind of like the Guitar Hero concept mixed up with scratching, techno beats, and scantily clad female DJs. For more on the nuts and bolts of gameplay, check out a preview IGN did at GDC 07 when a version of the game -- which might or might not be Fever -- cropped up in San Francisco.

DJ Max Fever is going to be a mix of DJ Max Portable and DJ Max 2. The title will pack in more than 100 songs for you to tap through; a Freestyle mode that's activated by performing a perfect mix; goal-based contests called Extreme challenges; five difficulty levels (including something that will thankfully approach "feasible for mortals" -- the import and demo edition were notorious for being too hard for those blessed with only a mere 10 fingers); Network Battle Mode; and a collection gallery to house the music videos, soundtracks, and images you unlock.

We've got tons of screens and a handful of movies in the gallery below. As you can see, DJ Max Fever has an anime styling to it and some catchy tunes. Look for a hands-on in the coming weeks, and look for the game to hit your local retailer on Nov. 11, 2008.

- Favre to the Jets. This WILL be an improvement, they were 25th in pass offense last year. I love Brett Favre, he's about as ironman as they come but I don't think Green Bay wants his style of football anymore. I think his inflexibleness inhibited the team. They've been in such a long relationship, one Superbowl in 17 years? That was when Green Bay had the #1 Offence, #1 Defence and the best kick/punt returner in the league. I think they've blown too many other good chances, I don't blame them for wanting something fresh. I see 8-8, 7-9. That division is... ROUGH!

- Aaron Rogers - there's two scenarios. One is that he'll scat the bed. People will ride his ass all season long and it'll crush him. The other is that he lights it up, I don't think there's an in-between scenario. Three years of grooming better have done something, that's why I don't think he has an excuse to be average. I see 6-10 or 10-6

- Baltimore's shithouse quarterbacking situation. Kyle Boller... man I thought they fired Billick over his man-crush obsession with Boller despite his mediocrity? Joe Flacco... wow, three sacks, one fumble? In six snaps? Here he is after, without a care in the world for his terrible showing: saying "I'm proud of my poise in the pocket, I'm proud of my ability to keep a cool head and not get rattled". Well, welcome to the NFL, you need a new approach asshole. 8-8, Flacco will ride the pine.

- Cleveland will go 11-5. They're stacked.

- Raiders - Russell better start earning what he's getting paid. He's looking amazing so far, I just hope that offense stops fucking over their defence. If they do, you've got the 2000 Bucs redux. 11-5 (YES I SAID IT)

- Dallas - how the fuck do they have any cap room left? Man alive they're forking out huge cash for vets. I don't think the best team has the best players, I think the best team plays the best game given each situation. I hope they choke. Again. 8-8.

- Chicago - should have picked up Pennington. Griese or Grossman? Shit or shat. A short-ball machine like Pennington is all they need. Defense is in great shape. Cutting Benson over a DWI? A Christian alter-boy like Lovie Smith shouldn't be calling those shots... he's screwed his team over badly. That Jones/Benson 1-2 smashmouth punch should have been preserved at all costs. 7-9.

- Tampa Bay - DARKHORSE. My homeboy Jeff Garcia of Stampeder "fame" gets the job done all day. I see a 11-5 season.

- Indy. Make me proud boys. The absence of Manning during TC/PRE will push them the offense to get out of that complacent, comfort zone funk that killed them down the stretch last year. 12-4 (not 13-3 only cos they'll blow the last game of the season while Sorgi stinks it up again), AND A TICKET TO THE DANCE. Yes I said it.

- San Diego - stacked with amazing players. God they've been finding talent in all the right places. Who the fuck was that incredible Jackson kid who sunk my Colts in the playoffs? GRR, where do they keep finding these assholes?! But can they play the best games? They'll win their division. 11-5.

- Tennessee - hopeless. Vince chokes again. 6-10.

- New Orleans - hopeless. Shockey will bitch everyone's ears off. 5-10.

- New England - that Old Balls Linebacking Crew will deplete the world's supply of Ben Gay, and suffer to a 9-7 year. Yes I said it. They have to sink sometime...

- Giants - Undercelebrated, underestimated. I love em, and they'll stop at nothing to shut everyone up. Again. They'll meet Indy in Tampa Bay.

- Miami - I HAVE NO IDEA. It's not the same team, I hope they do something positive.

- Buffalo - Toronto area groupies will give them herpes AND a 10-6 season.

I'll write more if people care. :]

Lemme just lay 'em out point by point, and lemme just hope to god Frieza shows up! I know football fans are slim pickins around here:
Follow the steps then go to romnation.com and download SFIII and SFIII 3rd strike. You'll need both of those files and another one you can google (SFiii3n). With this program you can play a shitload of arcade games online. It's seriously some kickass shit.
I know some reviews have complained about the price in relation to the length of the game but you should get at least several hours out of it for $15 and that really isn't bad.

Moogs got the game too so hopefully he'll have something nice to say to help persuade more of you to get this..
